Review + Swatches // Gerard Cosmetics Lipsticks
Today I’m going to review the five original lipsticks from Gerard Cosmetics. They just came out with a new color and I know they’re planning releasing another one soon, but for now I only own the original five.
Left – Right:
Swatches L – R:
Fire engine, 1995, Tequila Sunrise, Nude & All dolled up.
I was super excited when they sent me these for review as the colors are just gorgeous and I’d heard nothing but good things about them.
Do they live up to the hype? YES.
I absolutely adore these lipsticks and I love how unique some of the colors are. I own nothing like 1995, nude and tequila sunrise! Nude does look a lot darker on me than other I’ve seen with it but I’m guessing that’s just because I’m so ghostly (NW10)!
The lipsticks are super pigmented and I usually don’t even wear a lip liner with these. The texture is very smooth and goes on semi matte/matte. They aren’t drying which is really nice now that winter is coming up and most people tend to get dry lips during that time so I’m super excited to be able to wear them during winter as well. They’re also really long wearing and stays put for hours, easily 5 hours wear for me, but of course it depends on how much you eat, drink, talk and so on while wearing them.
I’ve seen a lot of people talk about the packing and smell so I’m going to write a bit about that as well.
The packaging to me looks super glamorous on my vanity and I love how the gold matches the lip glosses from Gerard as well (review of the glosses can be found right here). They don’t exactly feel expensive, but not cheap either. They’re good quality but not over the top.
As for the smell, I can’t really detect any to be honest. If anything, there’s maybe a slight cosmetic smell, not unpleasant at all and not something I’ve ever noticed before. Not sure if there’s something wrong with my nose haha, or if I just got some good tubes compared to other people.
5/5 Stars: I’d highly recommend these!
